Southwold Arts Festival 2022 - Adnams Collaborative.

Since March 2022, second year NUA photography students have been working alongside Adnams Southwold to create a vast range of imagery as part of our live industry brief. As part of this collaboration, Adnams decided to curate their own arts festival round the small town of Southwold - running until 2nd July 2022. I had the pleasure to visit on the 28th June with a couple of my fellow peers, to view our work on display. For some, including myself, this was the first time I have had work exhibited to the general public.

I was very impressed at the quality of the printed work. It really made the colours within my concept pop out and jump off the wall. I have to admit, it was a little disappointing that only one of the three images I submitted was displayed but we move on. I am now a published photographer for advertising purposes! After seeing the majority of our works in the gift shop, we then started to make our way along and look for other work being displayed in the pubs throughout the town.

Other works on this wall are created by artists such as Michelle Hannant & Hollie Worsfold. It was really interesting to see how other people interpreted the brief and how we all used different collaborative skills to create this work. For me, I worked with an extremely talented graphic designer named Eoin O'Kramer. He really captured my fresh new vision for Adnams which is something we were tasked to create. Something they hadn't previously done before in their promotional materials. I personally found this project really good fun it allowed me to play around and experiment with new skills, models and also helped me find my style.

This collection of imagery was scattered around several buildings. Starting from left to right we have work from the talented Caitlin Marjoram, Lauryn Boon & Eleanor Barltrop. Each image telling a different part of the Adnams story, from their sustainability to their consumers. I am very blown away by the talent within our small university, not just photography but those that we collaborated with during this unit. From stylists and makeup artists to illustrators and graphic designers. This was a really successful first taste of the industry and i'm excited to further develop my career within it.

Overall, it was just really a nice day out. We got to view all the work as well as having a catchup with tutors and peers we hasn't since since before submission back in May. It was nice to grab some chips and enjoy the seaside with new friends, before getting an ice cream and heading home.
